AWS IT Infrastructure Assessment Services
Get a clear, evidence-based picture of where your AWS infrastructure stands against best practices before unresolved risks surface as incidents, cost overruns, or compliance failures.
What the Infrastructure Assessment Services Cover
By identifying the infrastructure areas with the highest operational and financial risk, we pinpoint where the AWS cloud environment deviates from established best practices, and which corrective actions will deliver the most immediate and lasting impact.

AWS Infrastructure Assessment Case Studies
Our service is backed by practical experience solving infrastructure, performance, security, and cost challenges in complex AWS environments. These success cases demonstrate how we identify infrastructure weaknesses and define practical improvements for performance, resilience, and cost control.
Our Clients
What the Clients Say
Why Romexsoft Is a Trusted Infrastructure Assessment Service Partner
Companies rely on us because our reviews go beyond the components that surface in alerts, mapping structural weaknesses across the entire AWS environment to identify what is driving risk. What our clients value most is not a list of findings, but a clear path from diagnosis to resolution.
Infrastructure Cohesion Review
Many assessments validate individual configurations against a checklist. We assess whether the infrastructure, as a system, provides the foundation for app’s top performance, security, and resilience. If individual points pass checks but the platform still experiences incidents, instability, or scaling issues, we identify and report the structural cause.
Risk-Prioritised Findings
We do not provide flat lists of detected gaps when delivering our service. Each finding is evaluated by severity, blast radius, and remediation effort, to produce a risk-based register that guides action. Engineering teams know which findings to address first and why, without needing to triage a raw output document themselves.
Remediation as Part of the Service
An assessment without follow-through is just documentation. Romexsoft can be involved through the entire resolution phase – from developing infrastructure changes and refining architecture decisions, to validating fixes and adjusting priorities as implementation unfolds, ensuring the infrastructure actually improves.
Assess Your AWS Infrastructure Before Problems Scale
Get a clear view of your infrastructure weaknesses, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities to define the next steps toward a higher-performing AWS environment for your applications.
When Your Infrastructure Needs an Assessment Services
AWS environments that grow incrementally through new services, team changes, and expanding workloads often reach a point where the infrastructure is functional but no longer well-governed.
Performance Constraints Go Unattributed
Infrastructure Costs Grow Without Visibility
Reliability Issues Repeat Despite Corrections
Security Gaps Accumulate as Systems Expand
Operational Overhead Scales Fast
Compliance Becomes Harder to Validate
Our AWS Infrastructure Assessment Approach
Our assessment process builds a complete understanding of your infrastructure, identifies realistic improvement opportunities, and translates findings into a clear action plan. The entire process is conducted through read-only access, no changes are made to the live environment, and no permissions beyond read access are required at any stage. Active development cycles and deployment schedules continue without interruption.
If the engagement continues beyond assessment, we can act as the implementation partner executing the roadmap while maintaining a consistent architectural direction.
We review your current AWS environment to establish a complete technical baseline.
- AWS account structure and service usage
- Compute, storage, and database configuration
- Network architecture and security controls
- Monitoring, logging, and alerting setup
- CI/CD and operational processes
- Backup and disaster recovery readiness
We analyse findings and define the most impactful infrastructure improvements:
- Architecture and performance improvements
- Security and compliance corrections
- Cost optimisation opportunities
- Observability and operational improvements
- Scalability and resilience initiatives
We present the findings and recommend next steps to your team:
- Executive summary
- Prioritised recommendations
- Architecture and operational guidance
- Implementation roadmap
- Q&A session.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long does the typical assessment take?
The duration depends on the size and complexity of the AWS environment, the number of accounts and regions in scope, and the availability of relevant stakeholders. In most cases, the actual assessment (without remediation implementation) can be completed within two to six weeks, including discovery, gap analysis, and the findings presentation.
Will the assessment interfere with our running workloads or deployments?
No. The assessment is conducted through read-only access, no changes are made to the live environment at any stage, and no permissions beyond read access are required for the infrastructure review. Active development cycles and deployment schedules continue without interruption throughout the process.
Do we need to prepare documentation before the assessment begins?
Existing documentation – architectural diagrams, runbooks, deployment procedures – is reviewed as part of the discovery phase, but it does not need to be comprehensive or fully up to date for the assessment to proceed. Where documentation is incomplete or absent, we validate the current state directly against the live environment and flag undocumented areas as part of the findings.
How is infrastructure assessment different from the AWS Well-Architected Review?
The AWS Well-Architected Review is a self-assessment framework: an organization answers a guided questionnaire, and gaps are identified based on those responses. The quality of the output is directly tied to how accurately and completely the team can describe their own environment, which is rarely the full picture.
Our assessment uses the Framework as the evaluation standard but conducts the analysis independently. Rather than relying on questionnaire responses, we examine the environment directly reviewing live configurations, mapping service dependencies, analysing resource utilisation, and surfacing undocumented or drifted settings that self-assessments typically miss.
The output also differs. A Well-Architected Review produces a list of flagged questions and recommended best practices. We deliver a prioritised gap register and a remediation roadmap – findings ranked by operational and financial impact, with clear guidance on what to fix, in what order, and why.
